About Our Family

We are a vibrant, neurodiverse, homeschooling family with three teens (twin 15-year-old daughters and a 16-year-old son), all actively engaged in enrichment programs and our family business. Our home is filled with creativity, learning, and plenty of LEGO bricks! We value community, kindness, and fun, and seek someone who shares these values. Our family embraces multiple intersections of diversity, and we welcome candidates who are culturally aware and affirming of all identities.

The most important quality we’re seeking is genuine connection. You must be able to build rapport with neurodiverse teens—this is absolutely nonnegotiable. If a true connection isn’t possible, we’ll part ways with gratitude and respect.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Energetic, compassionate, and genuinely enjoy working with neurodiverse teens

  • “Camp counselor energy”—upbeat, flexible, and ready to jump into new activities

  • Organized, proactive, and able to mentor or tutor teens in homework and life skills

  • Interested in LEGO, Marvel, and hands-on activities; willing to get messy in the garden or during water activities

  • Ready to take on the “unpaid labor of motherhood”—the household logistics, emotional labor, and invisible work that keeps a family thriving—for pay, so mom can focus on being present for her kids

What You’ll Do

  • Respite Support: Provide parents with breaks and support as needed

  • Community Connector: Help our teens build relationships and confidence in group settings and enrichment programs

  • Family Admin: Assist with organizing the home (scheduling, errands, light tidying)

  • Mentor & Tutor: Support homework, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills for three neurodiverse, homeschooled teens

  • Facilitate Fun: Assist with LEGO Brick Club, therapeutic gardening, and creative projects

  • Be Flexible: Join us for occasional travel, weekends, and special family events

  1. Safety First: Supervise kids in and around water and in the community

Prerequisites

  • Experience working with neurodiverse kids or teens (personal or professional)

  • Genuine interest in educational pursuits, gamified learning, and creative play

  • Positive, patient, and adaptable attitude

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Willingness to commit long-term if it’s a good fit

  • Ability to pass a background check (required by caregiving agency)

  • Comfortable supervising water activities—our kids are water babies!

  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay & Perks

  • $23/hr through caregiving agency during trial period (higher pay after trial period)

  • Supportive, fun, and inclusive family environment

  • Opportunities for growth and professional development
