Hampden Farms
We cultivate inclusion and growth for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their caregivers.
Mission
Hampden Farms cultivates inclusive, joyful communities by supporting neurodiverse individuals and families through innovative, hands-on programs. We empower people of all abilities to thrive-whether through creative play at Denver Brick Club, therapeutic experiences in our gardens, or accessible digital storytelling. Our mission is to foster belonging, creativity, and lifelong learning for neurodivergent and underrepresented communities in Denver and beyond.
Vision
We envision a future where every person, regardless of ability or background, has access to nurturing spaces that celebrate diversity, promote wellness, and spark creativity. Through collaborative initiatives-Denver Brick Club, therapeutic gardening, and beyond-Hampden Farms strives to set a national model for intersectional inclusion, community-driven innovation, and holistic support for neurodivergent individuals and their families.
Our Founder
Zephrine Hanson is the founder of Hampden Farms Inclusive Innovations, a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, community wellness, and sustainable living. Born and raised in California, Zephrine served in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs and medical photographer before transitioning to a career in communications and community engagement. After moving to Denver in 2016, she embraced a holistic lifestyle and launched Hampden Farms in 2017-a suburban farming homeschool project with her 3 children dedicated to sustainable agriculture, artisanal products, and inclusive programming.
A dedicated homeschooling parent, Zephrine educates her three neurodivergent teenagers-a journey that has deeply inspired her approach to play facilitation, therapeutic gardening, and her current career focus. Her hands-on experience supporting her children as they prepare to launch into early adulthood fuels her commitment to creating accessible, evidence-based experiences for all.
As a neurodiversity advocate, Zephrine has championed programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including Denver Brick Club and Therapeutic Gardening. Her leadership is shaped by lived experience as a caregiver, her service as a board member and educator, and her commitment to intersectional equity-bridging disability, race, and economic disparity through storytelling and hands-on learning.
Zephrine’s vision for Hampden Farms is rooted in the belief that every person deserves opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth. Her work has been recognized by the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council, and she continues to inspire change as an instructor, mentor, and community influencer-changing the world one seed, one brick, and one story at a time.
